The Asian Legal History Association (‘ALHA’) brings together universities, faculties and research institutions from around Asia and the world with three goals:
to promote the study and knowledge of transnational legal history generally;
to enhance the status and role of Asia as a generator and hub of global legal history knowledge; and
to develop collaborative relationships between universities in Asia and around the world.
The ALHA serves at as a network and a platform, enabling a range of activities. The ALHA’s premier events are the Asian Legal History Conferences, which have been held annually every year since 2021. The ALHA engages in and supports a range of other activities as well, including:
occasional conferences, symposia, workshops and talks, in person and online, aimed at promoting the study of transnational legal history;
sharing information on new publications, talks, and other events and opportunities in the area of transnational legal history; and
supporting collaborative research activities related to transnational legal history.
